Irony of Indian Cricket Fans

Sachin Tendulkar is a great cricketer. And he will continue his legendary. He is god of cricket. After his retirement everyone will miss him. But what’s going on since past few days is ridiculous.

Some people are saying that Sachin is not retiring from cricket, cricket is getting retired from Sachin. What kind of bullshit is this? I have seen use of this kind of sentence for funny lines. And you are saying this seriously with tears in your eyes?

Some people are saying this there is no cricket without Sachin. Probably they will stop watching cricket after this. Sachin has retired from T20Is and ODIs, since a long time. You stopped watching those formats of the game? I bet no one is going to stop watching cricket after this match.

Red and the Fire – RCB Mighty 14 at Kolkata

Red and Gold – really appealing. But Royal Challengers Bangalore was not among my favorite in the first version of IPL. But in the 2.0 version, I got attracted by the great captaincy of Anil Kumble and great performance of the team. I don’t remember exactly when I become a member in the RCB fan club. There are many teams in the world (I am not talking about IPL or cricket, over all sports and leagues) and most have a great and loyal fan base. But RCB is special, as it’s loyal to its fanatic fans too. I came to know about Mighty 14 contest and applied. I was not serious in this contest, as I was thinking this will be very difficult one to get selected, so I did not tried to get votes for me. But I came to know that I was selected for the Might 14 Kolkata. And all was set for a great and unforgettable day in my life.

Phir Dil Do Hockey Ko

Few days before, I saw Virender Sehwag saying something on a tv commercial. He was saying that, he was not playing this time and will join as a spectator. I thought what happened to him? Why he is saying like Sourav Ganguly said in an ad when he was out of Indian team (remember that Hoo Haa India ad?). Then I came to know that he is promoting Hockey World Cup for Hero Honda. After that Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Priyanka Chopra followed with their versions. I also said, “it’s Hero Honda ad, not Hockey ad”. I was simply wrong. While people were going to forget hockey with popularity of cricket, this promotion worked really well. And many Indian watched first match of India in Hero Honda FIH World Cup 2010, Delhi against Pakistan. And the stadium was full of supporters, were cheering Indian team by blowing whistles and saying “Chak de India”.
