Letsbuy.com merged with Flipkart.com and ditched convenience of its customers

I needed a digital invoice of a product I ordered from Letsbuy.com. So, I opened the website and found that a notice which says that in order to further improve our (whoever) shopping experience, they have integrated their operations with the largest player in the category – Flipkart.com. This is good. But where can I access my order history?

They wrote it there:

For our existing customers, your order history and status remains secure with us. You can get all details about your existing orders by dialing : 0124 4901234 (from 8 AM to 9 PM )

How inconvenience is this? They should have merged the accounts with Flipkart. It feels like they are going to stop their business, because Flipkart wanted them to stop competing and paid some money to get the return of their investment. It does not feel like they are still doing the business after merging with Flipkart.

Airtel vs Reliance in customer service

I was very much impressed by the quality customer service by Airtel Broadband in Chennai. So, I opted to use Airtel for my mobile phone, when I came to Odisha, though I knew that Airtel is costly than other providers. At that time Docomo launched recently and people were enquiring about it, still I preferred Airtel.

Should we ignore our old customers to get new ones?

I have seen many businesses offer a special discount or a free gift to their new customers. If they have introduced this gift or discount from the first day of their business, then it sounds really good. Because all their existing customers already have taken this opportunity, so when the new customers take this offer, those existing customers feel good. But when an existing customers came know about such an offer, which is not for them, but for new customers, they feel cheated. And if they are your loyal customers, then you may loose them in the process of attracting new customers.
