Android Phones Available in India

This is an old post. For current prices of mobile phones, please visit MySmartPrice. To buy mobiles online at best price, free and quick shipping and great customer support, please visit Flipkart.com

I am dividing all Android phones available in India to two categories, based on their price. The lower segment phones cost between Rs 10,500 and Rs 15,000, where the higher segment phones cost between Rs 22,000 and Rs 28,000.

Between Rs 10,500 and Rs 15,000:

Sony Ericsson X8

Price: Rs 13,950
Plus: Well built, decent performer
Minus: Mediocre display
A decent phone with a decent feature set, the XPERIA X8 has a very mediocre display and Android also faces issues with lag, owing to slower hardware. Overall performance is good.

Online Saree Destinations in India

I answered to the question “Where to buy silk sarees online?” at WhereToBuyOnline.in recently. I thought it’ll be good to share the answer here too.

RmKV is a very old and popular store for silk sarees in Chennai. There are few other good silk saree stores in Chennai like Nalli, Kumaran Silks, The Chennai Silks, Pothys etc. They all have very good collection on silk sarees and other sarees.

Where to buy online in India?

Some people love to spend time on shopping. They visit big malls, great stores or the market in the neighborhood and do what they love. I too love shopping. But instead of shopping in the traditional way, I spend my time on visiting many online shops. I buy more products online than I buy from the offline market.

Few months ago, I posted on my online shopping experiences. That became the second most popular post on my blog and in few days it’ll become the most popular one. I got inspired with the popularity of this post, my wasted time on online shops and few other factors, I am planning to write few more posts since few days. But due to lack of time, I am unable to publish them. Please be in touch, I am coming with few good posts on my online shopping experiences.

NIC Sucks – OJEE e-Counseling

Since a long time I always complain about NIC (National Informatics Center). NIC develops and manages most of the websites and online applications for Govt. of India. The reason is pretty clear – lack of accessibility and web standard. And the reason behind such sucking website and applications is also pretty clear. As many of the Indian Govt. departments and offices, people at NIC are not perfectly eligible, don’t get the best training and don’t follow the best practices and web standards. Take out a random website, designed and developed by NIC. There is 99% chance that it must be using tables for everything. There is 50% chance that it’ll look ugly in all advanced and standard browsers other than IE 6. And 100% of those sites are ugly, if you know the current web design trend. This does not mean that Indians are not good at web design and development. There are many great Indian web designers and developers. This means no one at NIC knows good web design or web standard. In this post I am going to explain how OJEE (Orissa Joint Entrance Examination) e-Counseling Sucks.
